CITY OF PEORIA (ENERGY)

Peoria is dedicated to developing an awareness & education program that will affect the way our residents perceive energy efficiency and conservation. Projects include:

  • The development of activity booklets, posters, trading cards, and bookmarks;

  • The distribution of energy-saving products such as LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights;

  • A portable lighting display to show the comparison between efficient and standard lights- incandescents, CFLs, and LEDs;

  • Community presentations to schools. For example, the city recently presented an energy efficiency message to children at Frontier Elementary School;

  • Classes for citizens and HOA groups on energy efficiency and conservation; and

  • Coupons in local newspaper which can be redeemed for CFLs.
