Valley Forward has an ongoing work program to facilitate environmental education to both teachers and students in Arizona. Through our EarthFest Educators Night for teachers in partnership with Waste Management Charitable Foundation, Freescale Semiconductor and others, we showcased environmental education resources to some 300 teachers (K-12) from throughout Arizona at The Phoenix Zoo on October 17, 2007.

We are able to reach a statewide audience by presenting EarthFest Educators Night in partnership with the Arizona Science Teachers Association, serving as the official kick-off to their annual conference.

Educators learned about field trip opportunities, curricula and related materials offered by Valley Forward members and guests. In addition to previewing environmental education exhibits, teachers also enjoyed a free fun-filled evening, complete with refreshments, displays and activities and networking.

Valley Forward's EarthFest Education grant made possible by STMicroelectronics was unveiled at the event, awarding up to $5,000 to teachers for environmental education programs.
