Environmental Excellence Awards
Arizona Forward, in partnership with SRP for the 13th consecutive year, held the 34th Annual Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence Awards Gala on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the Westin Kierland Resort.
Known as the “Academy Awards” of the environmental community, the event is Arizona’s oldest and most prominent competition of its kind. It spotlighted distinguished projects throughout the state of Arizona that demonstrate a high level of environmental commitment and contribute to the region’s overall sustainability.
The coveted Crescordia Award (a Greek term that means “To Grow in Harmony”) set standards for the exceptional physical, technical and social development of our state.
This prestigious program has grown significantly over the years and now encompasses seven broad categories, including:
- Governor’s Award for Energy and Technology Innovation
- Buildings and Structures
- Livable Communities
- Site Development and Landscape
- Art in Public Places
- Environmental Technologies
- Environmental Education/Communication
- Environmental Stewardship (SRP Award)
Both the Governor's Award for Energy & Technology Innovation and the Environmental Stewardship award are statewide categories reflecting Arizona Forward's expanded presence.
The awards program featured a museum-quality exhibit of finalist entries, a multi-media presentation and gourmet dinner, followed by a post-gala reception.
