Teachers will preview environmental education exhibits and enjoy a fun-filled evening complete with refreshments, displays, activities and networking.
Valley Forward will also provide participating teachers an environmental education tool that meets Arizona state standards as a giveaway featuring resources and information on such topics as: energy, water, air quality, transportation, land planning, plants and animals or waste management.
In addition, we will announce Valley Forward's EarthFest Educators Grant, offering teachers an opportunity to apply for more than $5,000 in environmental education funding for 2010 classroom activities, programs, field trips, curriculum, etc.
In January 2009, Valley awarded more than $7,000 in funding to support environmental education efforts in eight Arizona schools through the EarthFest Education Grant program, made possible by STMicroelectronics and other sponsors.
Over 2,000 students in grades K-12 will benefit from the grants, which will support environmental education projects at their schools or in their community. The projects focus on such topics as: water, air, land, plants and animals, recycling, transportation or energy
