EarthFest Educators Night

Arizona K-12 teachers can get free resources on environmental education that meet state standards, attend a complimentary environmental education workshop and apply for an environmental education grant and full-tuition scholarship program at Arizona Forward’s EarthFest Educators Night from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Phoenix Zoo. Educators can also apply for a grant to incorporate green projects into the classroom, thanks to funding provided by Helios Education Foundation.

Now in its nineth year, EarthFest Educators Night is presented with University of Phoenix, Arizona Forward’s official education partner. The innovative program combines entertainment and education, showcasing environmentally oriented curriculum, activities and programs on Arizona’s unique desert character. More than 50 booths representing public and private sector environmental education programs, along with exhibits from the non-profit and educational communities will be featured at the event. Other attractions for teachers include giveaways, complimentary refreshments and resources that help in the classroom.

Arizona Forward gives $5,000 to K-12 teachers throughout Arizona as part of its annual EarthFest Educators Night.

More than 600 community leaders convene annually for Arizona Forward's Environmental Excellence Awards to recognize sustainability initiatives around the Valley.

Arizona Forward's bimonthly programs facilitate education and outreach on sustainability issues and feature enlightening keynote speakers and technical experts.
