2015 Chair of the Board, Dan Litteral, speaks to KAWC-FM about both the scholarship, the aligned mission of Arizona Forward and University of Phoenix and the success of our 10th annual EarthFest Educators Night.

Arizona Forward and University of Phoenix are offering three full-tuition scholarships to deserving Arizona K-12 teachers in an effort to strengthen and expand environmental education opportunities for Arizona teachers. The scholarship will grant three deserving recipients the opportunity to complete either an undergraduate or master’s degree program at University of Phoenix. The purpose of the scholarship program is to provide educational opportunities to local teachers who have demonstrated sustainable practices in their classroom and want to continue to make a difference in their community.

The scholarship application deadline is December 9, 2014 and recipients will be selected by January 19, 2015. To obtain a copy of University of Phoenix’s Arizona Forward Scholarship application, visit arizonaforward.org or www.phoenix.edu/azforwardscholar

These scholarships are offered in conjunction with Arizona Forward’s tenth annual EarthFest Educators Night which invites Arizona teachers to come and enjoy nearly 50 exhibits, activities and environmental education resources to aid them in mentoring the next generation of environmental stewards. EarthFest is open to all Arizona K-12 teachers and took place on Oct. 28 at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
