Valley Forward Goals & Issues

OUR BASIC AGENDA

  • What are the challenges to ensuring that metropolitan Phoenix is among the most livable places in the country?
  • How do science and politics influence the ability to create healthy communities?
  • Why are integrated solutions imperative to transportation, air quality, water management and land use planning issues?

These are just some of the questions that Valley Forward tackles as part of the organization’s basic agenda. We believe that in order to compete successfully for the intellectual and monetary investment necessary to achieve economic vitality, we must offer a living environment comparable or superior to the most appealing cities in the country.

That means we must find ways to sustain growth into the foreseeable future, without overwhelming the resources we have at our disposal – air, water, open space and desert vistas. It also means we must create livable communities and neighborhoods. And it may mean that creating new environments is as important as preserving the natural environment.

Valley Forward’s focus is sustainability and livability aimed at keeping our metropolitan area competitive in the new economy. There is no other organization that is better equipped and structured to tackle this agenda. We can make a difference.
