Valley Forward is presenting
two Getting Ready for Rail forums on how to
minimize the disruption to business throughout light
rail construction. These free and informative presentations
will feature business representatives from Houston,
Minneapolis and Salt Lake City, who have lived through
light rail construction in those communities. They will
talk about the challenges, realities and outcomes in
an interactive, moderated dialogue. Panelists include:
Don Matson, owner of Cap's Grill, located
adjacent to a light rail station in downtown Minneapolis.
Tony Weller, operator of Sam Weller's
Zion Books in Salt Lake City.
David Edwards, a restaurateur and entrepreneur
from Houston who has owned and operated several restaurants
off the main rail line.
Bill Franks, executive vice president
of Spire Realty in Houston and Chair of the Planning
Capital Projects & Construction Committee of the Houston
Downtown Management District.
The event
is open to the public at no charge, however, reservations
are required by calling (602) 240-2408. |
