1. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interest you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how?
The administrative regulation that is of great interest to me is the Copyright Office Regulation. The administrative agency which controls the regulation is the Copyright Office, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). This office and regulations interest me, because I am a writing of poetry and I am
in the process of having my material copyrighted for publishing.
The owner of the copyrighted materials has exclusive rights to the material.
Write the public comment which you would submit to this proposal. If the proposed regulation deadline has already passed, write the comment you would have submitted. Explain briefly what you wish to accomplish with your comment.
There is no deadline on registration for poetry, but my public comment is to make registration fees free for all tax paying citizens of the U.S. We pay enough taxes to cover any minute fees needed to advance ourselves in any contractual manner. I understand that this is for our own protection (the copyright), but why pay for something that can be done at no expense. The price of the fee is really not the issue, being that it is very small, but I would pay more to copyright my poetry than someone would pay for a gun permit in most states.
This is something I wish to have done at no cost, “poor man’s copyright”, which as of now does not hold much weight or safety of the materials. Write and make new laws for the poor man.
Provide the "deadline" by which the public comment must be made. (If the date has already passed, please provide when the deadline was).
This deadline will expire on July 22, 2012. Please reply as soon as possible.
5. a. Once you have submitted your comment, what will you be legally entitled to do later in the promulgation process (if you should choose to do so)?
