Week 5 TBLS Assignment
Medical Basics and the Healthcare Claims Cycle
The assignment in TBLS activities of week 5 has shown me that action planning is a process which will help me to focus my ideas and to decide what steps I need to take to achieve particular goals that I may have. It is a statement of what I want to achieve over a given period of time. Preparing an action plan is a good way to help me to reach my goals in life.
There are many different models of action planning, but a good starting point is to set specific and clearly defined goals for myself, and make sure that these are realistic and achievable. Action planning is a cyclical process, and once I have been ...view middle of the document...
I have to know exactly what I want to accomplish, decide exactly how I will achieve it, and don't let anyone or anything stop me from reaching the end goals.
This exercise has shown me that making a daily list of tasks that need to be done, and all the people and places you can contact for help, is an essential part of action planning. I should refer to it and keep updating it regularly. Prioritize items on the list into important/not important and urgent/non-urgent. I should update my list daily, crossing off completed tasks and adding new tasks that need to be done. Urgent or important tasks can be highlighted to stand out. Making a list and writing things down not only makes the goal more real; it has many advantages such as; I’m less likely to forget, it helps me decide my priorities, I’m less likely to be sidetracked, I don't have to try and remember everything in My head, and I can feel great as I cross off each thing that I have accomplished. I also believe it will help me feel a little more in control.
Sometimes it may seem that there isn't enough time to do everything that I need to do. This can lead to a buildup of stress. This exercise has helped me to learn valuable tools for time management skills. I think this will help to lessen all the stress I feel from never being organized, which also leads to a lot of procrastination on my part, which in turn seemed to make me accomplish even less because without a clear starting point it seemed I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out where I should start. With everything I have learned through this exercise, I think life and reaching my goals has just become a whole lot easier!
