Business Communication Trend
Exchange of information for business, clients, and customers is paramount in business communication. Current trend in business communication is constantly changing. There are ten trend in business, government, and non-profit organizations affect businesses and administrative communication: Technology changes, including information overload and data security versus privacy; a focus on quality and customers’ needs; entrepreneurship; teamwork, diversity; globalization and outsourcing; legal and ethical concerns; balancing work and family; job flexibility; and the rapid rate of change (Locker & Kienzler, 2008). These involve verbal communication, by phone, e-mail message, and letters. To provide excellent customer service, you must be a good listener. Listening skills is very important in order to pass to word to the proper channel. It is important that we understand the phone call to help resolve problems and provide the best customer service. Responding to clients in a timely manner via e-mail, a returned phone calls or letter helps me manage my daily work activities and providing an outstanding customer service.
Diversity comes very important to my department. It enhances the overall productivity of my department. Diversity among employees can get the most benefit out of each employee's unique talents, experiences, insight, creativity, reflects positively and my department becomes stronger.
Teamwork brings together people’s varying strengths and talents to solve problems and make decisions. My workplace focuses on customer service and teamwork is a trend. We work together that nobody is left behind. In teamwork, we learn to work together, developed a team cohesion and trust, because we have to depend to each other, in order to accomplish our daily activities. In my department are cross-functional because, when someone is on leave or vacation their job function must continue.
A good business communication helps to build better goodwill. The message builds a positive image of an organization, through improved productivity and efficiency, better problem solving and working relations. Most employee’s moral are up and customers have high satisfaction.
In summary, business depends on communication. Flow of business communication is very important to achieve the goal of a business. It improved employee commitment and job satisfaction, increased morale leading to better employee performance. A good business communication will benefit from improved products, productivity and competitiveness. Customers are likely to respond in a positive manner that will lead to more business profits.
