Every day it seems as if technology further advances, abilities that were once only thoughts decades ago; have now become today’s reality. Richards, (2013), “While many speak as if change is a reflection of the 21st century, the world has actually been changing for many, many years. The ability to manage that change effectively, especially in business organizations, is critical”. There are so many ways technology can better a workplace, and it is the job of management to provide training to the employees so the newest of technology can be of assistance to the organization.

When a person is hired they are given a role and if change comes about employees tend to resist. As humans we naturally have a distrust to anything new; a feeling as if change will destroy all that once was; fear and resistance when dealing with change of any sorts is normal (Adenle, 2011). If management understands and comforts the staff by acknowledging change can be stressful and demanding and make the staff feel like they are not alone and in fact, management is coping with the same change; the outcome and overall acceptance will be grander (Richards, 2013).
According to Adenle (2011), there are 12 common reasons employees resist change and there are; fear of job loss, bad communication about the change, shock and fear of the unknown, fear of losing control, lack of competence, poor timing, lack of reward, office politics, loss of support system, former change experience, empathy and peer pressure, last, lack of trust and support. Employees need not only to feel a sense of belonging but also a sense of security.
Human resources were only once only seen as the hiring department. However, now the human resources department is the nucleus of the entire operation. Not only is this the department responsible for hiring and firing, but also payroll, benefits, complaints and human resources is also responsible for making sure all employees are properly trained and educated per their department.
