The incorporation of computer through the innovation of information technology has introduced programs, operating systems, data, files which work together with a perfect design and entry to enhance business management of which sales and profit margins would be optimum priority.

Information systems are simulation of components such as hardware, software, data which when gathered, processed and stored/distributed form information that enhance managerial decisions and effective control of an organisation. This can be termed technical but in a business environment they can be referred to as an installed and ready-for-use systems which enables executives and staff identify and analyse a management problem, its complexity and create new products or services.

They can be referred to as complex systems that are composed of interrelated elements which carry out collectively; input, processing, output, control and storage actions so as to change available data into information that can support the forecasting, coordination, decision making and operational activities of a business enterprise/firm.

The application of information technology has enhanced speed per second in processing numerous data, accuracy when parameters are entered correctly, programmability, and reduced the boring feeling about repetitive tasks. Contrarily, it cannot still make decisions by intuition, innovation, improvisation and judgement or experience; the human factor still has to act as humans are creative, and can understand situations.

With the present pursuit of the modern society for information, the business environment is now forced to incorporate different information systems so as to neutralise interactions or forces both internally and externally, then have a competitive advantage over possible competitors.

Various information system types exist ranging from office information systems, transaction processing systems, management information systems, decision support systems, through expert systems to integrated information systems.

Information system has brought about revolution to the business environment. It is sometimes difficult to put a system under any of these types but all information systems tend to have a common achievement which is to provide transaction processing, management information and decision support.

Most organisations whether manufacturing or sales of products and services, with increasing trends of competitiveness have to incorporate all forms of information systems needed so as to gain meaningful competitive advantage.

1.2 Brief history of Coca Cola

The Coca Cola Company did not just start at the snap of the finger; it rather was discovered accidentally in 1886 [May 8] when a pharmacist Dr. John Stith Pemberton, added carbonated water to a new syrup to produce this drink which was named Coca-Cola by his book-keeper and partner Frank M.
