We use energy every day. We use it for entertainment, cooking, transportation, lighting, heating and cooling homes, and manufacturing. Because of the limited amount of non-renewable energy sources, it is important to conserve our current supply or to use renewable energy sources so that our natural resources will be available for future generations. Renewable energy is natural resources such as sunlight, wind, water, and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from ...view middle of the document...
Another energy resource we use is Coal. Coal is mined throughout the world. Coal is a fossil fuel and is also a non-renewable resource. We use coal for energy such as heating water, turning on our lights and maybe even powering our television and computers.
Wind Power is an energy source that is renewable. Wind turbines are found all over the world. The wind is generated into power. Because this energy is renewable, we will not go without. Wind power can be used for electric. It can be an alternative to coal. (Peters, 2015)
Impact on Humans and the Environment
Humans have a big impact on our environment. One may say that there may be too many people on earth or that there may be too many people in one geographic location that is causing the depletion of our non-renewable resources. (Our Ecological Footprint & the Built Environment, 2015). Whichever side you agree with, they both agree that there are many humans using up the non-renewable resources such as coal and oil or petroleum. Our personal choices effect our environment greatly. The way we choose to house, clothe and feed ourselves affect the availability of our resources, non-renewable and renewable. We can walk or use our bicycle more often than using our car or carpool more often. If available use wind or water power instead of coal to help with our power, electrical needs. A short term impact is the cost of oil (petroleum) or coal. The more we need and use the cost is higher. A long term impact is that eventually these non-renewable resources are going to be used all up. The earth will not have anymore and we will be forced to use other sources.
New Energy Resource Best for Your Home
There are many new ways to reduce the energy that we waste each day. The U.S. Department of Energy states that using loose-filled fiberglass insulation will reduce heat loss up to 50 percent. When building new homes and using this type of insulation it will result in a family using less heat or cooling for their home because the insulation will hold it in the home and...
