Career Goal-Setting Worksheet
Respond to the following in 50 to 100 words each:
1. Adjust your professional or career goal you created in Week Two based on the Career Plan Building Activities results from the My Career Plan assignment. How did the results of the Career Interest Profiler and Career Plan Building Activity on Competencies contribute to your professional goal development?
Well I now that I know more about my actual strengths and competencies when it comes to a professional standpoint and I can now focus on improving them even more and I can look for a ...view middle of the document...
Professional is also an easy one since I am only required to participate three days a week and I have three days a week off since I work four ten hour shifts it works out nicely. Of course school will always be just as if not more important than work so I will also be participating some on my work days as well.
3. How can understanding the importance of SMART criteria and your career interests and competencies help you move toward your career and academic goals?
First of all the knowledge of SMART criteria is what will help you set reasonable, achievable goals that being said, knowing and understanding that along with your career interests and competencies is basically a guideline to moving forward to any goal you have set in life as long as you follow your guidelines of that criteria.
4. Now that you have set academic goals and identified your career interests, explain the relationship between academic goals, skills, and professional goals.
To my understanding the relationship between these three aspects are simple, you first must set your academic goals and once they are set and in motion you will be learning new skills along the way. All the while you must set professional goals based upon your career interests and make sure they line up with your academic path and goals. So basically their relationship is reliant on each other if one fails it only makes the others that much harder.
