The book How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie gives instruction and guide on how to use methods to succeed in everyday life. The methods that Carnegie illustrates in the book can be beneficial to people in the position of running a business. Administrators and business leaders need to be able to apply the principles Dale suggests in the book in order to lead by example to employees.

When coming into work every morning, as the administrative assistant, I plan to address every employee by name and “good morning” or “ how was your weekend?”. By exhibiting the simple task of saying the employees name before a statement, it will show that I am genuinely interested in what that employee has to say. Remembering names is not just an idea that can be applied to a work place but, can be applied to everyday life as well. Taking note of a name tag at a store and addressing Adeline by name can make a difference on how the experience will be in that store.
Mistakes are a part of human nature, we all make mistakes. As an employee, be careful on how approaching a mistake, this can lead to a reaction one may not be looking for. “ Begin with praise and honest appreciation” ( Carnegie, 198) If an employee is having a hard time with a task and constantly making the same mistake, it is up to myself as the employer to correct them. Everyday at work Amanda puts the bandaid on the patient the wrong way. This can be a mistake that Amanda is aware of but does not know how to correct, therefor the bandaid will always be put on wrong. When approaching Amanda to give advice I will start out by saying, “Amanda, you are doing a great job at cleaning the wound out and applying the ointment but, here let me show you a trick to get the bandaid on easier.”...
