1.1) The Institute of Applied Technology (IAT)
IAT has excellent support services and state-of the-art facilities. It was founded in 2005 under Royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi as an educational institution to operate with full administrative and financial independence (IAT, 2014a).

It consists academies Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS), Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, and Al Rowdah Academy (IAT, 2014h) and Applied Technology High School such as ATHS female and male campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, ATHS in Ras Al Khaimah Fujairah, and Dubai (IAT, 2014i). In 2010, IAT’s number of staff was more than 400 staff/faculty members (IAT, 2010a). According to data in 2014, the number of staff is 562. IAT are offering school subjects, which academic core courses are given in figure 2 “Curriculum Matrix” under appendix four along with outcome (IAT, 2014f). The subjects are Health and Physical Education, Citizenship and Life Skills, Computer & Information Technology, Arabic, Islamic Studies, Mathematics, Science, and English (IAT, 2014d). The cluster course requirements given are in figure 3 under appendix four (IAT, 2014d; IAT, 2014e).
IAT is developed to offer these schooling and academies for students offering stimulating and modern environments to national youth in scientific and technical disciplines (IAT, 2014g). In 2010, IAT’s numbers of students were 3000 (IAT, 2010a). According to data in 2014, the total number of graduates is 4678 and for each grade G9, G10, G11, and G12 are 1468, 951, 1050 , and 1092, respectively.
