Hi Jalon, time to get ready for the seventh grade this year, now is the time to prepare for the new school year. I had some problems with your misbehaving in class last year and not doing your in class assignments. A conversation took place this past weekend and you stated that you hope to get A’s and B’s this year. I didn’t respond at the time, but I thought about it later and I came up with a solution. When you get to class you find a desk upfront so you can hear the teacher, and focus. In every class there will be students who like to disrupt the class because they think their funny. Stay away from those class mates; you pay attention they will only get you in trouble. If they start to disrupt the class you ignore them and stay focused, let the teacher deal with them. When the teacher is teaching you listen, you focus and you pay attention. If the teacher is teaching a subject and you don’t understand, raise your hand wait for her to call on you and ask for help, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. This way she can see what you don’t understand and explain it in a way you will understand. When you are given in class assignments they need to be worked on in class, this way if you have a problem the teacher can work on it in class with you. If you don’t finish the assignment and you have to take it home for home work you need to finish it and turn in the next day. When you truly want something bad enough it will requires hard work and determination to achieve. This will require extra work and dedication from you. What I mean is you need to take extra time and work on the things that you find difficult. Practice, practice, and practice this is the only way you will get better. You are my son and I love you, but I can’t do the work for you. I am here to help you and support you. So remember to get those A’s and B’s you need to focus, pay attention in class, ask questions when you need to, do your assignments, and practice. If you do these things you will see enormous results.
