Our HR department will lead the staff review effort and perform an internal staffing audit. HR will also be in charge of screening new sales hires and staffing changes. It is important for our management team to be well versed in the rights and obligations of the employer, job candidates and employees; not knowing the employment laws could be critical and costly. As managers we need to promote fairness and equality in the workplace. Our company is in equal opportunity employer. Throughout the staffing process our company will comply with all the laws, regulations, policies, and guidance that prohibit discrimination in the Federal workplace based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, genetic information, or reprisal (US General Services Administration,n.d.).
During this time we also want to make our employees feel comfortable. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated, this includes unwelcome sexual advancements, and creating a hostile work environment. All the policies and procedures involving discrimination and harassment will be outline in the handbook. As managers, we are supposed to be setting the example for appropriate behavior. Anytime there is a complaint, we need to respond and follow up. I need all of you to know how to file the complaints, and be able to inform your subordinates of that process.
