Did Emily Dickinson take part in literary break found in the traditional 19th century? Yes her poetry came forth with boldness during this time. Her writings were so unique it made her readers capture and believe what she was writing about. For example, when Whitman writes he somewhat take the readers along and allow them to form a clear picture in their head about his poem. Likewise Dickinson allows her readers to use their imagination so the poem can come alive while they read her poem.
Although their writings are similar, they also have some differences. For instance when Emily Dickinson writes her poems, she gets right to the point and she is not long winded with her poems. Walt Whitman on the other hand writes his poems very lengthy and somewhat glides into the conclusion in his poems. Both Dickinson and Whitman are great poets and their poems have added to the literary traditional break in poetry.
During their times as well as today many people turn to their work of poetry to read and find comfort in their writings. Some of their poems are found in all sorts of cards across America. The great poets maybe dead and gown but their poems have such impact in this century and centuries to come. Dickinson and Whitman broke the cycle of traditional poetry writing by utilizing modern ways of writing such as, using different styles of writing.
