Article Rebutal Steroids in sports
We have all seen the news and seen many athletes in the news on the same topic over and over again, steroids. Should steroids be allowed in sports. We can debate this all day for people that are on both sides of this, there are pros and cons, I for one am for the pros. An individual names deborah sorensen from athletesagainststeroids.org wrote and i quote "Part of being an athlete is that you become vulnerable to the whim of every trainer, coach, media person, promoter, and sponsor. They want freaks. So you set out to be a freak or go unnoticed. The things you are willing to do for success are humiliating to think about. I was a hard, suspicious, neurotic woman while I was taking steroids. That just isn't me. I've seen marriages dissipate, families break up ...view middle of the document...
Also that it is the steroids fault that a marriage has dissipated, and finances dissolve due to steroids. None of these statements are valid, she can not say for sure that those couples that ended in divorce did not already have issues, maybe one cheated on the other one, and maybe the financial isssues was cause gambling or loaning out money to friends or family when it wasnt neccisarry. As far as her saying that being an athlete makes you vulnerable is completely invalid. Being vulnerable in my opinion has nothing to do with you being an athlete or not, it has to do with your weak minded way of thinking or weak will power. There are going to be temptations and goods and bads in every profession, it depends on the way you take what people give you.
Many articles I read also state that steroids are unhealthy for an individual and that they will cause an early death. This is also a lie, there are many advantages of steroids, while there has never been a case linking steroids to death for certain. Some of the advantages are increase muscle mass, improve physical appearance, recover faster. Medical benefits include but are not limited to; benefits for male replacement therapy, since testosterone is a natural chemical in men that declines with age, it sometimes needs to be boosted. Also given to HIV positive people and some cancer patients to increase appetite, this way they can maintain muscle mass while sick to help with the healing process.
So basically my rebutal for this article is that steroids should be legal, not only in sports but in general. They are far safer for you than cigarettes, alcohol, high fructose corn syrup, tylenol. If someone wants to use steroids than that is their choose, just because someone uses steroids does not mean that they do not have to eat right or train hard to achieve their goals.
