Functions of Management
Ever wonder what skills it takes to be a successful supervisor in a small or large corporation? There is a strategy to the success of these supervisors. In this paper, I am going to identify the skills and strategy to such success, by identifying and defining the four functions of management; planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. I am also going to explain how I implement them into my company and my office, and how these four functions help me to be successful at my job.

Flyers get our name out there, and coupons bring them into the office, to ask about the services advertised on the flyers. Planning is essential in this because this is the first stage to implementation to achieve those set goals.
Organizing is also very important in obtaining success. Organizing means that you are assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational, and other resources needed to achieve the goals you planned out in step one. Going along with the marketing example, this is a very important step. This is where managers assemble marketing teams, call group meetings, where you can explain company goals, go over objectives on who you intend to reach, review resources that are readily available to your teams, and explain drawn out steps to achieve those goals.
Leading is the next step in success. This step is where you stimulate people to be high performers, motivate and communicate with employees, individually, and in groups. This requires managers to be in close, day to day contact with groups, teams, and employees, helping and guiding them toward team and organizational goals. When Block managers are implementing the teams marketing ideas, and trying to achieve team goals, it is very important to be completely active and involved with the marketing teams. Managers make themselves readily available to all the teams, to help with questions, and complications that may arise, and actively work right along beside the marketing teams to help to insure success.
