Explain Christian attitudes to other religions
Some Catholics believe that the only way to get to heaven is to follow the religion of Christianity and that if your any other religion your not going to go to heaven because you need Jesus’ teachings. In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, ‘I am the way, the truth and the light, no one come to the father except through me.’ This quote explains here that Jesus is accepting and bragging that he’s the son of God. Jesus as well is saying that when you come as a Christian you have power which can instantly get you through to God. Also because Jesus has given the message of Christianity to his messengers which enhances that Jesus lets you become a ...view middle of the document...

They believe that everyone should be a Christian even after accepting that they are other religions.
Protestants however believe that it is not fair to try and convert people as no religion has complete truth. They believe in the quote from Jesus, ‘Love thy Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, mind and strength,’ that everyone should follow the religion of their likings. Jesus also said, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself,’ explains that everyone should be treated with equality and have their own choice of being a different religion than Christianity.
“It is the duty of Christians to save the souls of non-Christians”

Christians would agree with the statement. In Christianity the Bible states that the person that sins shall die. So Christians believe that if a person slips into eternity without Christ, and his teachings, the fate waits for him or her is hell. To those who return to God without Christ, they believe that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and where the worm does not die. The quote which supports this is, ‘The Son of man has come to seek and save that which was lost.’ The quote shows that Christians in general can save the people who have followed into the other religions. Implying that Christians is the only religion that everyone should follow.
As a Muslim I disagree with the statement. This is because Muslims worship Allah, and think that the only way to get into heaven is to follow the Prophets words. All religions say the same thing but the only difference is different meanings to things and different beliefs. As a Muslim, we our self have a duty to make non-Muslims to become one.
