My motivation,
Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.,

I am Ekky Reno Priyambodo, motivated student in Geological Engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada, expected to join The Society of Economic Geologist Universitas Gadjah Mada Student Chapter (SEG UGM-SC). I appreciate this opportunity to open my way to becoming professional geologist and to apply for participating in geological society especially in Economic Geologist career. With my experience in organisation and my enthusiastic about economic geologist, I strongly believe that I am an appropriate candidate for this Student Chapter.

Since my high school days, I have developed strong interest for learning earth science, especially mining geologist. That why I enrolled myself to Geological Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada. This experience also enabled me to be observant with social issues.

As a student in this famous university, I should join some Student Chapter exist and I choose Society of Economic Geologist Universitas Gadjah Mada Student Chapter (SEG UGM-SC). After I read carefully the description of this Student Chapter, I believe that it perfectly matches with my interest in economical geologist.

As I understand, this Student Chapter give the member a lot of advantages. This Student Chapter sponsor short courses, inexpensive field trips and another useful experiences which will provide opportunity for me in order to learning about earth science, mining techniques, social issues regarding economical geologist, and allow me to study part of the earths in its natural laboratory. This Student Chapter also held many social event, meeting attendance, and participation in supporting other social activities which will provide me opportunity to make a friend with other young geologist. Friendship with others is more than human need – it had strong career benefits as well in the future.

The main reason I choose this Student Chapter is to develop my leadership experience. Leadership skill is important in future career as a geologist. Leadership skill can be acquired from society participation like joining this Student Council. This leadership skill will bring me into being a professional geologist.

As I know, this Student Chapter is very competitive and attracting a lot of young geologist. But I am convinced that my experience at last Senior High School and my enthusiasm for being a professional geologist give me a strong recommendation for being member of Society of Economic Geologist Universitas Gadjah Mada Student Chapter (SEG UGM-SC). I would be honoured if the manager of this Student Chapter decided to accept my candidateship.
