Organizational Behavior (OB) is the research and function of understanding how people, individuals, and groups perform in an organization. The point is to apply knowledge toward enhancing efficiency in an organization. OB can create a healthier working relationship by including organizational culture, organizational behavior, diversity, and communication into the organization.

The purpose of organization behavior is to apply information about improving the success of an organization. It is interdisciplinary topics that consist of sociology psychology, sociology, psychology, and anthropology. Organizational behavior (OB) knows how to expand a better understanding about yourself and others. “OB is unique, however, in its goals of integrating the diverse insights of these other disciplines and applying them to real-world problems and opportunities” (Schermerhorn, Hunt & Osborn, 2008, Organizational Behavior, p. 5). The OB model focuses on the dependent variable and independent variables. The dependent variable includes efficiency, attendance, and turnover, when independent variables assumed causes that sway dependent variables.
“Workforce diversity describes how people differ in age, race, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, and sexual orientation” (Schermerhorn, Hunt & Osborn, 2008, Diversity, and Multiculturalism, p. 11). Managing diversity has turn into an international concern. Organizations have challenges to adapt to diverse groups of people by dealing with various standards of living, family needs, and work styles. Diversity is important because it makes the organization tough and the culture robust and let companies serve their consumers effectively.
Employers have to change their way of thinking from dealing with everyone the same way and know differences and responding to those differences in ways that make sure employee retention and productivity at the same time, not discriminate (Robbins & Judge, 2009). These changes consist of offering diversity training and overhauling benefits programs to become accustomed to the different needs of different employees. One of the principal features to take into account in hiring and advancement are people competence; the ability to learn the job and the personality to stand in for the organization.
Communication is the passing on of information. Without communication, there is no means to articulate opinions, ideas, and emotions. This requires a sender, a message, and the receiver. The message process is finish when the receiver has understood the message of the sender.
