Persuasive Message
When creating a persuasive message the writer must plan the message first, know what the purpose of the message, and be very clear to the audience. According to University of Phoenix “Writing Persuasively on Paper and in Electronic Formats” A persuasive message can be in the form of a letter, an e-mail, a memo, a proposal, an advertisement, or a presentation (Roebuck, Mckenney, 2006, para. 1). There are a few common mistakes that can occur when writing a persuasive message such as putting to much fact that are unclear and do not have a logical idea. Not rushing while writing your message that can cause the writer to seem unsure of his findings and cause a delay in the topic presented.
There are many reasons stating why we should strive to live a healthy lifestyle and watch what we intake in our daily foods. Over the years the United States have progress to become a country that has a high rating of obesity. According to “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” 36 percent of American adults are obese. Being obese can be life threatening and cause health concerns such as diabetes, pulmonary sleep disorder, heart disease, high blood pressure and many more that can result in death. To end this trend on obesity we must educate ourselves on better ways to eat healthy portions, how to prepare healthy meals, and why not take the fast way out with fast food.
In the United States there are different ethic groups and some are more prone to some of these health concerns when over weight. For example in the African American community there are more than 50 percent of adult African Americans obese, verses 35 percent non-Hispanic white adults (MD Anderson, 2013). Some might say it can be genes and the soul food traditions in a household, but if that are true by not living a healthy lifestyle and overeating can speed up that process. Soul food traditions can consist of family gatherings where foods are cooked with fat, high sugar, and high cholesterol.
