After high school there are numerous things i want to do and accomplish in my life. My admirations are not much different than the average person , but it will still take a lot of hard work to get where i want to be.
After I graduate this May I pan on taking summer classes at Columbus state, while working so I can save/ earn money for college. I am committed to play soccer at the university of charleston next August. My plan as of now is to go to UC to study to be a neonatal nurse practitioner. As a senior, I took four classes at Marion Tech this year and earned 12 credit hours. This summer I plan on taking 6 prerequisites at Columbus state, so once I get to Charleston, I get into the nursing program as a freshman.

Ive been told multiple times that the neonatal nursing field is a very competitive field to get in to. I'm always given the same “not going to happen” look followed by, “well, everyone wants to work with the babies.” I smile and agree with them but inside it just makes me want to work even harder to prove that i have the drive to make it into this competitive field of study.
While attending college that offers my major I plan on studying hard and passing all my classes with high grades while being part of the Golden Eagles Women's soccer team. I plan on earning my degree as a registered nurse and then, continue furthering my education to become a neonatal nurse. My biggest obstacle is time and dedication to my schoolwork. Even though this is my biggest obstacle it is still my number one priority. One of my greatest strengths is my determination to do well in all subjects. Another strength I have is that I communicate and work well with my peers. A neonatal nurse practitioner deals with newborn and premature babies. They have to be very patient and understanding when caring for the babies. Families that have a baby in the NICU are very impatient and worried. I would have to calmly explain to them what would be going on in terms that they could understand and assure them that my goal is to give their baby the best care i'm able to give them.
I chose neonatal nursing as a career because it has always been at interest of mine. As I have grown into a young adult, my passion for neonatal nursing has only multiplied and I am very eager to fulfill my dream. Every thing I have done in my life, I have worked very hard for it. This program/ career will be no exception. First, I will keep god at my side at all times. With him all things are possible. Furthermore, I will continue to be confident in myself and work hard at everything I do to allow me to be very successful in college and become the neonatal nurse I dream of being.
