Organizations face various problems, issues, and opportunities. Applying the principles of business research allow companies to handle business in a profitable, forward focus manner. Justify why the chosen issue, opportunity, or problem facing the organization is important to be researched and whether it can be solved with business research.
The issue or problems with inaccurate inventories facing Sodexo is important to be researched. The company for its survival and good name can be researched in many ways through using business researched. Questions must be asked. How are the inventories being inputted into the system? Who is responsible for conducting inventories? When are inventories being conducted? Business research is a tool that encompasses values that save time, money, and aid in the betterment of the company as well as the people it serves.
What are the key business Objectives?
The question what are the key business objectives is formed from the management-research question hierarchy or management dilemma. The process is designed to move the researcher through various levels of questions, each with a specific function within the overall business research process (Cooper & Schindler, 2014). Nevertheless, in this the case the business objectives are solving the issues with inaccurate inventories that affect the companies financials.
What are the questions that must be researched?
The next process of the research design is formulating his or her research questions. Cooper and Schindler (2014) stated, “Using his or her understanding of the basic theoretical concepts, the researcher’s task to assist the manager in formulating a research question that fits the need to resolve the management dilemma” (pp. 112).
There are several questions that must be asked. How are the inventories being inputted into the system? Who is responsible for conducting inventories? When are inventories being conducted? Business research is a tool that encompasses values that save time, money, and aid in the betterment of the company, as well as the people it serves.
What are the hypotheses and variables that must be considered?
However, there are many hypothesis that will be explained of some of the issues, which is the inaccurate inventories at Sodexo. A hypothesis by legal terms is a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation. In this case the hypothesis is how do we ensure inventories are accurately being conducted.
The variables that must be taken into account is the independent and dependent variables. Furthermore, the “independent variable is the cause, and the dependent variable is the effect” (Cooper, 2014, p. 55, para. 1). The variables that must be considered are what other things than can be affecting inaccurate inventories.
