Essay One: The Rant
To identify a behavior within your community or in the larger society that you find annoying
and to bring attention to it so as to rally favor from your readers;
To practice organizing and developing ideas in an expository essay.
Write an essay in which you identify a behavior that really annoys you. You should choose
from behaviors that originate from your local community or from the larger culture. Also, make
sure that your rant is not directed at a specific person, race, gender, or sexual orientation. In

A title that effectively and authentically sets the mood or tone for reading your essay. I
often find the perfect title to be some key word or phrase that I have used in my essay.
