Despite the years it is taking me to continue and finally, to finish my degree in health informatics, it has never crossed my mind to stop pursuing my dream of obtaining my degree.

I came to America when I was six years old, and I saw my mother worked two jobs to support us, my older brother, older sister and me. Hard work has always been the theme of our household, and that it will give us better lives; however, my mother always reminded us that pursuing an education will even get us further. These words and values instilled by my mother continue to inspire me, and when I turned fifteen, I started my first job and I have never stopped working since then while I support myself through school.

Since I began working at the age of fifteen, I have never forgotten what my mother taught me and have driven me to better myself academically and professionally. I obtained my associates degree in health informatics, worked two jobs, and completed all the certification tests in this field. Nonetheless, I am still inspired and driven, and I am ready to pursue my undergraduate degree in health informatics.

Throughout the years of hard work, I continue to build my path in obtaining my degree in health informatics. At the same time, I am humbled by my experience. To earn my degree in health informatics is not only to better myself academically and professionally, but also to put the words and values my mother instilled in me into action.
