Constructive Action 1 Report
After analyzing the many topics I can write about for my constructive action project this
semester I have decided to describe how I would invent my own business and sell my own
product. This product will be detailed in terms of the service that it offers to the public. My
business and product will relate very closely to my professional work experience and educational

Project Managers are responsible for going too job sites and meeting with other trades such as
carpenters. They also determine the scope of work for the projects that my company handles.
Each personnel including myself is a consultant. We are all billable in terms of our hourly rates
as well as the billing information that we send to our clients.
As the President and Chief Executive Officer I am worth $275.00 per hour. The Vice
President is worth $250.00 per hour. The Accountant is worth $150.00 per hour. The Senior
Project Managers are worth $200.00 per hour each. Lastly the Junior Project Managers are
worth $175.00 per hour each.
The business model of my company is based on project management. Project
management is the idea that a company is made up of an array of projects that are inter-related in
nature. Each project contains a budget which is its monetary value. Secondly, scheduling is
involved which is the time frame that projects need to be completed in and contains a deadline.
Thirdly, the scope of work is involved that details what has to be done according to the client’s
needs in terms of renovating a building’s interior or restoring its exterior.
The operating requirements of my firm involve renting an office space in midtown
Manhattan. My company is currently in the process of being established and I will rent an
interior office space for $2,500.00 per month. This equates in a yearly rental of $30,000.00. The
price to renovate an office space in that vicinity of New York City is approximately $120,000.00.
This fee is typically paid by the owner of the building beforehand if they decide to renovate this
space to offer me to rent.
My company will utilize the latest types of equipment and technological needs. My
office will have the latest up to date Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software that will be
utilized to modify all architectural and engineering drawings. The names of these software are
AutoCAD, Revit Architecture and 3D studio Max. I will also have a large scale plotter that will
print all drawings or blueprints for client review as well as project bidding. I will also have
miscellaneous equipment such as telephones, printers and faxes.
My company will be a very lucrative operation. I will generate an income of two million
dollars a year. My overhead will be five hundred thousand dollars a year. That leaves my profit
or cash flow to be one million and five hundred thousand dollars. My income and cash flow will
be vastly dependent on my company’s scope of services.
Our services include conducting periodic on-site evaluation of projects, generating
architectural and engineering drawings and planning project layouts. We also incorporate the
technicalities of structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design. My company also
specializes in local law 11. This means that every five years buildings that are greater than six
stories in height in New York City are required...
