United Parcel Services encounter challenges when it comes to international deliveries. Some of the challenges faced are culture differences like the currency, time, date and some icon usage that may be offensive to some cultures. Additional there were hardware constraints for the company and keyboard mapping issues. For example, in the video they spoke of markets where communication is still a struggle like in Latin America where the phone system is old.
In conclusion, United Parcel Service ability to capture the information at pick-up and delivery by the drivers in the United States is vital to input, output and tracking system for the entire parcel. The information systems used by the company in the United States and abroad will continue to propel United Parcel Services with the ability to meet the fast paced turn around for the customers. This company creates their information systems different in each area based on the volumes. I believe this practice is great because it allows different technology designs based on the high volume areas.
